The Monin brand was founded in 1912 by George Monin in the French town of Bourges. The location was chosen purposefully — it is close to fertile agricultural regions known for their high-quality fruits. In 1930, the company expanded its range, starting to produce syrups and liqueurs based on tropical fruits from Morocco, Tunisia, the Caribbean Islands, and West Africa.
